Things I love Thursday!

                                                                 I LOVE Summer!

I love everything about it! Summer is full of my favorite things including that sweet little fruit up above! I love the smoky smell of a BBQ, the thirst-quenching taste of ice tea(especially if it's in a mason jar OR by Chick-fil-A lol), I love going to the beach, collecting seashells, feeling the sand between my toes and smelling that salty air(to me there is nothing like it) I love fireworks, shooting stars, fireflies, wildflowers along the highway(even though Chad refuses to let me pick them, something about it being "illegal" ha ha) I love how the days feel like they are gonna last forever, farmers markets, the smell of fresh cut grass, I love how the sound of an ice cream truck grabs the attention of both children and adults, for that matter I just love ice cream, I love going to baseball games, cute bikinis, the smell of suntan lotion, I love outdoor movies or the idea of them anyways since we will going to our first one this Tuesday! YAY! I love summer thunderstorms, slushies, sundresses, lemonade stands, ice cold beer, I love SHARK WEEK whoop whoop which starts July 31st!, margaritas on the deck of our favorite Mexican restaurant(we have many!) I even love how the days can get so hot they take your breath away! I could go on and on but we would be here all day! :) I just LOVE Summer, especially now that I am viewing it through Lily's eyes...
Oh yeah I love water parks too!

                                                         I love Winnie the Pooh!

I love that they put it back in the theatre because I grew up loving this story, these characters and I wanted to share that part of me with Lily..so we went and it was SO much fun! She danced in the aisles, squealed and clapped pretty much the whole time and it was awesome! The movie itself was really cute, and actually pretty funny! I certainly recommend checking it out even if it is just to relive a part of your childhood..you won't be sorry!
"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?"” Ain't that the truth, Pooh..ain't that the truth! :)

                                                            I love Emma Stone
I just think she is ridiculously cute! The kind of girl you want to hang with because you know you will never stop laughing! I love just about every movie she's been in..Superbad, Zombieland, Easy A(which was beyond awesome)Marmaduke! lol and I am SUPER excited to see her play Gwen Stacy..not to mention she has two other films coming out that look amazing.. her new one with Ryan Gosling(who is equally adorable, hello Notebook!) Crazy, Stupid, Love and The Help. I just love her period. :)

For the love of Nascar..well and camping too!

Here is the thing, I have always prided myself on being a country girl...I'm a whiskey drinking, cowboy chasing(retired, ha ha) hell of a time--thanks Brooks & Dunn for summing that up for me! ;) However it wasn't until recently that I realized I hadn't even scratched the surface..you see here in Arkansas real, I mean REAL country folk exist and well I have some things to learn(or not!) lol! When we first got the news that we were heading to Little Rock for our next job I totally pouted..I mean hello, Denver! BUT lo and behold we are finding things that actually peak our interest which is a good thing since we are here for two months! Downtown Little Rock is gorgeous, and eclectic with tons of cute little shops and restaurants; not to mention it is on the riverfront that includes a Farmer's Market and movie nights(This Tuesday is the original Willy Wonka and we're taking Lily) yay! Plus the water park is right up the street from us(literally it is next door to the campground) and historically Little Rock has lots to offer(which I love)

Okay now back to that country thing..lol You see..this North Carolina boy that I'm dating..well actually I think I may be more country than he is(given my Thonotosasa roots!) BUT I'd like to showcase two important influences he has had on my country roots! lol

  • NASCAR: What the hell man! I used to make fun of this "sport", I mean all they do is drive around in circles(or in the words of Jeff Dunham "Oh look they're making a left turn, oh look another left turn.") I'm a football, hockey, & baseball fan so at first I didn't get it but here I am almost 3 years later watching GAC's Greatest Nascar finishes by myself..I could tell you the names, numbers and sponsors of almost every racer..I passionately loathe Kyle Busch yet I don't think I have an actual "favorite" besides Dale Jr.(But that's cause it is more of an obligation for race fans I think) I've still only been to one race(Darlington) but I think it was there that the sport won me over! The sound of it all is amazing! I will say one thing race fans are probably some of the most loyal in all sports..I mean some drive from race to race just for the chance to see their favorite racer! That is dedication! You know the BEST part about this whole thing? Chad (and his Dad) watch the race just so they can take Sunday naps..ha ha And I remember one day looking up and realizing that despite knowing that Chad was passed out next to me I was still watching..that is when I knew...I would never be the same! lol

  • The RV life: The other day we went to Camping World and as I walked up the aisles imagining what I would buy if I won the lottery lol I realized that life as an RV'er had fully taken over! By the way I wanted simple items like tablecloths for every season, party lights, and some nifty little kitchen device! ha ha I catch myself discussing with Chad the different types of Coaches, number of slide options etc.. and I am becoming increasingly familiar with the difference between 30 and 50 amp sites!  I actually had to stop myself from pushing the "imaginary" lever down on the toilet at the water park! Oh and I constantly want to grill hamburgers and hot dogs because isn't that what you do when your camping? :) My life is a vacation, a constant camping experience and not too many people can say that so all in all I know how blessed I am..how much fun we have out here in the woods! :)
I can now admit to the world that I am a proud Nascar fan, a proud camper! lol But don't you worry y'all I promise to never go ape shizz if you talk smack about my favorite racer..Ricky Bobby(who did you think I was gonna say Jeff Gordon, pLease!) ha ha Take it away Bobby!

Things I love Thursday!

I LOVE reading books..to Lily! :)

I have always enjoyed reading, and it is something I really want for her..to love books! I LOVE this quote from the movie Inkheart because it sums up the way I feel about reading.."Books are adventure. They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them." I want her to feel that way, to go on adventures, to discover things..so each night(days too) we read..everything..I have even read her articles in US Weekly (she thinks Jennifer is better without Brad too! lol) My favorite is On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman

The first time I read it I cried because it comes with lines like this:

"On the night you were born,
The moon smiled with such wonder
That the stars peeked in to see you
And the night wind whispered,
“Life will never be the same.”

It is a beautiful book and I highly recommend it!

I LOVE Miranda Lambert!
I've said it before..but she's a bad ass and after watching last nights Behind the Music on VH1 I am even more convinced that we should be best friends! lol I especially like the last line of the show when Tracy Gershon said "She's either gonna love somebody or kill them!" so funny! I love her because she has always done things her own way. I love her because she is beautiful and doesn't hide the fact that she is a curvy woman who likes to drink, eat and have a great time! I think there should be more women in the limelight just like her, empowering women to be themselves! I love her songs and I love her voice..I love her honesty..and I really LOVE her and Blake, they are just the cutest! I could go on and on..but I'll just leave you with a video one that you got it I LOVE! ha ha

I really LOVE this shirt from Orginal Cowgirl on Etsy and I HAVE to have it ASAP!

Seriously? That shirt screams my name! ha ha Plus I can wear it and Chad can sing "This here's the Queen of my double wide trailer, with the polyster curtains and the redwood deck!" lol well he'll have to change it to fifth wheel of course..but you get the point! ;)

p.s I LOVE Etsy!

I LOVE that it is almost the weekend!

which is why I love Thursdays so much, the anticipation! :) Because we are gonna go exploring, YAY! Oh and I am taking Ms. Lily to see Winnie the Pooh tomorrow and I actually might be more excited about that then she is..lol Yay for Thursdays!

Bill Clinton lived here..

Well Toto we're not in Tampa anymore! However, it was so good to be home again and be around the ones I love and it gave Lily the chance to torture..I mean love a few of her sweet cousins! ;) I will definitely miss it but I know we'll be back so for now it's off to the next part of our  journey...

Arkansas: The Natural State! Whatever that means..note to self find out what that means! :)

We were originally supposed to go too Denver, which would have been great..BUT my man gets the privilege of working for a brand new client of MRS, a job designated to him because of his AWESOMENESS! ;) So we are here in Little Rock and I have high hopes for the next 2 1/2 months! Did you know that the mill from the opening scene of Gone with the Wind was filmed here in Little Rock? Well neither did I, but it is definitely on my list of things to go and see! You know what I really love about Mr. Pope? Well LOTS of things, but that he really  gives me creative freedom when it comes to planning our excursions..even if that means he ends up at a place he has no interest in! Although Water Country which is down the street from us wouldn't be a hard sell! ha ha Oh and of course we cannot forget the Bill Clinton Memorial Library! Now that is a must see, I think I read that it includes an Oval office! Yep! TONS of exciting things to do on my Little Rock list! lol

Our home for the next 2 1/2 months is The Little Rock North KOA. A cute little place that we found after we decided that our first two stops reminded us of scenes from The Hills Have Eyes! lol Here is a picture of the cute little cabins across from us but other than that I haven't really taken any photos... It does have a pool(although yesterday it felt like bath water thanks to the 110' temperature!) a fitness center, an ice cream shop and general store..oh and it is down the street from like 6 Mexican restaurants so we're all good! ha ha! I think we will really enjoy ourselves here and so far everyone has been really friendly..yesterday for example this little old couple gave Lily a Popsicle because their Grand-daughter is named Lily too! :) Plus this is our FIRST real adventure in the camper..longer than the week we spent in Miami of course..and it just feels as if we've been doing it forever(Shh..don't tell Chad, because he will say "I told you so" lol) so I am excited! That is all I've got for right now so take it away ladies...

Where can I get one of those dresses! Meow!! ;)

Things I love Thursday!

I love REAL life!

You know those moments in life where you think "man that would make a great story"? Well I have had a lot of those in the past two weeks; especially because it's been about that long since my last post!) From girls nights, date nights, the in-laws in town, the 4th of July, school and raising an almost 15th month old(which by the way is crazy talk! lol) I have just been so busy! I have a beautiful life..a life that sometimes can't be put into words and I am okay with that...I also know that I missed blogging, telling my "stories" and so I'm back, happy Thursday y'all! :)

I love or should I say LOVED breastfeeding!

I realize that it isn't for everyone(that sometimes it isn't even possible) but for 14 1/2 months it has been a big part of my life, of Lily's life and although breastfeeding was frustrating at times I am kind of sad to see it end! It has been such a beautiful bonding expierience for the both of us, and I will never forget those little moments where it was just the two of us..those little blue eyes peeking up at me, the peace of it all..I feel lucky that it was so easy for me, that despite a few minor moments of engorgement and frustration it just felt natural; because again I realize breastfeeding is not always easy! I am also aware that half the truckers in America, along with a few lucky Barnes and Noble employess have seen my boobs! lol OH and then of course there is this memorable moment..Chad's favorite..in New Orleans..
Which of course is one of those moments that definitely makes a good story! :) I will say that last week was rough..my boobs felt as if they were going to explode but in the end one little baby is in love with whole milk..like really in love, she giggles when I get the carton out of the fridge! lol Breastfeeding it ain't for suckers..or is it? haha

I LOVE the 4th of July!

Besides Thanksgiving it happens to be one of my favorite holidays..mostly because my family love to get together, we love to BBQ and well we love to blow shit up..case in point the year we blew up Aunt B's shed! Our motto is if "ya don't get burned then you didn't do it right!" Okay okay just kidding but seriously who doesn't love fireworks? and for that matter America?  I especially love that this year I got to share it with ALL my favorites(minus Courtney) :( and the annual Martineau cookout was even better than last year, if that is even possible because of it!
Seriously how awesome is that thing????

My little water baby!
I could post tons more but I took A LOT..it might take all day! lol Oh and one more thing Lily loves her some fireworks..I mean clapping, laughing loves them!
See what I mean?!

Oh and I know this is totally random but I LOVE GLORIA ESTEFAN! lol I heard her song this morning and it reminded me how fun she is, how fun her music is..
Seriously that video is amazing! Try not to get hooked! :)
